Anders Ilar: surrounded by nature

March 26, 2009
  • Is life an inspiration to make music or is music inspiration to live?
    >My awareness of music is of a more metaphysical sort. The universe is made of music. Music brings everything into existence. The harmonic vibrations of every atom is music.<
  • What would you do if there wouldn’t be music, starting with tomorrow?
    >There is great music even in complete silence. At least I can always hear music in my inner space, streaming in from higher dimensions. Without music there would not even be nothing. Without music we would not exist.<
  • and what if you had to produce in a different music genre? What would that be?
    >I prefer a more holistic perspective. Dividing music into genres is difficult, and really only serves the purpose of simplifying marketing. Music is meant to set us free not to limit our creativity and experience.<
  • The beauty of silence or the chaos of noises?
    >Silence is the void from which noises emerge. There is always a silence present in the noise and vice versa. It’s a kind of yin/yang situation. I prefer stillness to random motion. But nothing is truly still or silent in our physical reality.<
  • What’s your favourite album ever?
    >The answer to this question is not a constant. Over the years I have thoroughly enjoyed alot of music, so maybe the answer is All of them.<
  • …and your favourite album cover?
    >Bola – Fyuti< (click for larger image)

  • Is there some music you like – but ashamed to admit it?
    >Not really, maybe Coldplay or Abba or Snoop Dogg. Not ashamed though.<
  • If you could be a rock star, who would you be?
    >I’d rather not be a rock star, but if I had to choose one, maybe Freddie Mercury.<
  • Do you have a role model?
  • Who would you like to meet the most?
    >George Noory, my favourite talk radio host from Coast To Coast AM, or Russel Brand seems like a really radiant person.<
  • What are your favourite movies?
    >I prefer tvseries. Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Breaking Bad, Family Guy, 30 Rock etc.<
  • If you had to direct your own movie, how would it look like?
    >Misty, spooky, fluid story, no dialogue, trees, people, spirits, animals, enchanting etc.<
  • Who’s your favourite writer or poet?
    >Eckhart Tolle<
  • What’s your favourite food?
    >Cheese, Grilled salmon, Soup.<
  • Do you prefer cooking or eating?
  • Name three things you love the most about women.
    >Women are potentially wonderful and magical beings, just like men. They are often more easily in touch with the divine feminine, and the experience to grow life inside them I could never even imagine as a male.<
  • …and three things you hate about them.
    >Some can be quite confused and delusional, and use sexuality as a weapon, and become masters of manipulation.<
  • Which language would you like to speak most and why?
    >Latin, because it is beautiful and magical.<
  • How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
    >Infinite consiousness having human experience! or A different version of you.<
  • What are your vices?
    >Potato Chips and Cola with Aspartame.<
  • What is the most unusual comment anyone has ever made about you?
    >They didn’t tell me.<
  • What was the nicest thing somebody ever did to you?
    >My parents gave me this body to have this unique experience within this physical realm.<
  • The best moment in your life?
    >Now! is there another moment?<
  • What does beauty mean to you?
    >Beauty exists in everything we can experience with our senses. Life is beauty!<
  • What’s your favourite picture about yourself?
    >Snapped by coincident on the car ride to tamagawa camp village in Japan in July 2008 < (click on the images for a larger view!)

  • What’s your most favourite picture you made?
  • 1. Mushrooms in close-up.

  • 2. Icey sticks.

  • What would you do today if the world would end tomorrow?
    >Then I will prepare to enter higher dimensions and focus on radiating love and light.<
  • Which places you love the most?
    >By the lakeside, in the sunshine, in the forrest, on the hilltop, by the fireplace, or in bed.<
  • Who’s your favourite superhero and why?
    >Oprah! Because she’s not fictional.<
  • What’s your favourite flavour?
    >I like Key Lime Pie for my birthday.<
  • Three things you could never get rid of?
    >Things are inherently transient, but I would not like to give up electricity, or my eyes, or any other bodyparts.<
  • Your three favourite websites?
  • What is the question you always would have liked to be asked but nobody ever did?
    >Would you like to remix Depeche Mode?<
  • Would you like to remix Depeche Mode?
    >YES please!<

Anders Ilar (born December 1973) is a Swedish electronic musician and producer.
Born in Ludvika, Ilar grew up in the little town that is surrounded by woods and lakes, and started playing the piano when he was six. However, he gradually lost interest after he started taking lessons. Instead, he became fascinated with electronic sounds and science fiction, and grew up listening to Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream.
By the time Ilar was a teenager, he spent most of his time playing with synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines, resulting in an almost endless amount of tracks recorded on tape. Never feeling really satisfied with the quality of his productions, he decided to take a break in 1997.
After some time, Ilar was introduced to a new way of producing music — computer software. After making a few tracks, he decided to start producing again. He got in contact with the German label, Plong!, and was able to make his first official release. Since then, his output has spanned over many electronic styles — from the dubwise techno explorations for “Echochord”, via the blissful ambience of “Everdom”, through to the deeper abstractions of his “” pieces, and on to the recent darkside acid techno on DSP and Narita (taken from Wikipedia).

For his full discography check out Discogs and for more info, music samples and tour dates, his Mypsace and page. And of course let’s not forget about his webpage pineSKY, where a free (!) album is waiting for YOU to be downloaded! 🙂

szimpatikus ember, nagyon is. talán a leginkább az eddigiek közül. szeretem, hogy többet hall a zenében, mint két egymást követő ütemet amire lehet rázni a…rongyot. érződik is azon amit kiad magából. nagyon jó zene.
